Corrections Policy

Accuracy is the foundation of trust between UrbanMixr.uk and its readers. We take responsibility for every piece of content we publish – from city guides and cultural features to reviews and lifestyle articles – and we correct mistakes openly, promptly and transparently. This Corrections Policy sets out how we identify, handle and communicate errors, and how you can notify us if you believe something we have published is wrong.

Our commitment to correcting errors

We aim to get every story right first time, but when we fall short we put things right without delay. Whether the error is a misspelled name, an incorrect date, a factual inaccuracy in a venue listing or a more substantive mistake in a feature, we will acknowledge it, investigate it and publish a correction. No correction is too small to note.

How to report an error

If you spot a mistake in any UrbanMixr.uk content – editorial articles, city guides, event listings, reviews, sponsored content or any other material – please email our dedicated corrections address: corrections@urbanmixr.uk. You can also use this address to raise concerns about image credits, sourcing issues or any other editorial inaccuracy.

Please include:

  • The URL or headline of the article or page where the error appears
  • A clear description of the error
  • Your suggested correction (if known) and any supporting source or evidence
  • Your contact details so we can follow up if needed

Handling and review process

All correction requests are handled by the standards and fact-checking desk, led by Eleni Georgiou (Standards & Fact-Checking Lead). Eleni’s team reviews each submission for validity, verifies the claim against original sources, and determines the appropriate corrective action. We aim to acknowledge receipt of every correction request within 5 working days.

Correction note format

When we confirm an error, we append a clear correction note to the published article. The note will appear at the top of the page (or, for minor errors, at the point of the error) and will include the date of correction, a brief description of the original mistake, and the corrected information. For example:

Correction [15 March 2025]: A previous version of this article stated that The Hive Nightclub opened in 2022. The correct opening year is 2023. We have amended the text and regret the error.

If the error is significant enough to affect the overall understanding of the piece, we may add a longer clarification or, in rare cases, issue a full retraction with explanation.

Escalation

If you are not satisfied with the response from the standards desk, or if the issue concerns editorial policy or serious factual disputes, you may escalate directly to our Editor-in-Chief, Andreas Nicolaou (andreas.nicolaou@urbanmixr.uk). Andreas will review the matter personally and ensure a final, binding decision is communicated within 10 working days.

Internal and procedural corrections

Corrections also apply to content we discover ourselves during routine fact-checking or post-publication review. Our editorial team regularly audits published material, and any inaccuracies found are corrected with the same transparency and appended correction notes. We maintain a log of all corrections for internal quality control and reference.

Our standards framework

This Corrections Policy sits within a broader set of editorial safeguards. For more detail on our approach to accuracy, sourcing and accountability, please see our:

These documents explain how we research and verify stories, how we handle complaints that go beyond simple factual errors, and how we maintain our editorial independence.

Contacting the standards desk directly

If you prefer to contact Eleni Georgiou directly about a correction or fact-checking matter, you can email eleni.georgiou@urbanmixr.uk or phone +357 22 458 742 / +44 20 4587 5826. For general editorial inquiries, use our contact page or email contact@urbanmixr.uk.

No cost, no obligation

Submitting a correction request is free and carries no obligation. We welcome input from readers, sources, venue operators and anyone else who helps us maintain accuracy. We do not charge or require registration to report an error, and we treat every request with equal seriousness.
