Complaints Procedure

How to raise a concern

UrbanMixr.uk is committed to accurate, fair and transparent journalism. We take complaints seriously and aim to resolve them promptly and fairly. If you believe an article, image, listing or other piece of content on our site contains an error, violates editorial standards or causes you harm, we encourage you to get in touch.

Step 1: Submit your complaint

Please email complaints@urbanmixr.uk with the following details to help us investigate properly:

  • The full URL (web address) of the article or page in question
  • A clear description of what you believe is incorrect, misleading or problematic
  • Any supporting evidence or documents you have (screenshots, links, emails, etc.)
  • Your preferred outcome – for example, a correction, a clarification, or removal of content
  • Your name and a contact email so we can update you on progress

We cannot act on anonymous complaints, but we will treat your personal details confidentially and only use them to handle your case.

Step 2: Acknowledgement and initial review

We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within five working days. Our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, Eleni Georgiou, or a senior editor will review your submission. We may contact you to request further information. If the issue is straightforward – such as a clear factual error – we may resolve it at this stage and let you know the outcome.

Step 3: Investigation and outcome

For more complex complaints, we will conduct a full investigation. This may involve reviewing source material, speaking with the journalist or editor responsible, and consulting our Editorial Policy and Sources & Standards guidelines. We will aim to give you a substantive response within 20 working days from the date we acknowledged your complaint.

Possible outcomes include:

  • Issuing a correction or clarification, which will be appended to the article and noted in our Corrections Policy page
  • Publishing an editor’s note explaining the context of the complaint
  • Removing or updating content where appropriate
  • Providing a reasoned explanation if we determine no action is needed

If we decide to take no action, we will explain our reasoning and provide you with a written summary.

Step 4: Escalation to the Editor-in-Chief

If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint, you may escalate it to the Editor-in-Chief, Andreas Nicolaou. Please email andreas.nicolaou@urbanmixr.uk with your original complaint reference number and explain why you believe the response was insufficient. He will personally review the case and make a final decision on behalf of UrbanMixr.uk. We will update you on the outcome within 15 working days of your escalation.
