Searching “Elle Smith” feels less like looking up one person and more like untangling a coincidence: one name, two very different profiles — Ellen Elizabeth Smith, the Louisville journalist who won Miss USA 2021 and reached the Miss Universe top 10, and an Elle Smith surfacing in coverage of England captain Leah Williamson. The pageant record is solid, the relationship timeline is sourced only from 2024, and the two conversations demand different standards of proof.

Nine data points, one pattern: the public record is generous on pageant titles and deliberately quiet on personal finances.

Who is Ella Smith?
Start with the spelling problem, because it drives half of the confusion. “Ella” is what people type; “Elle” is the name on the pageant record. A British actress named Ella Smith also works in film and television, which makes search results even messier.
How old is Elle Smith?
- Full name: Ellen Elizabeth Smith.
- Born: .
- Age: 27 as of 2026.
The birth date belongs to the Miss USA 2021 profile, not to any unverified social account. It is consistent across the public biographies that dominate early search results.
Treat the Miss USA 2021 titleholder and any social-media profiles under the same name as distinct until a credible source says otherwise. Search results alone are not proof of identity.
The pattern: a one-letter typo creates a search-traffic knot, and search engine autocomplete happily pulls both people into the same results. The fix is context, not more defining.
What is Elle Smith’s real name?
The pageant winner’s legal name is Ellen Elizabeth Smith, according to public biographies. “Elle” is the shortened name she competes and works under; “Ella” is not a legal name, just the most common misspelling.
Legal names matter less than verified ones. In Elle Smith’s case, the verified pageant record uses “Elle,” and that is the safest public label.
The implication: “Elle” is a nickname that became a stage name; “Ella” is how people search when keyboard autocorrect gets involved.
Where is Elle Smith from?
Public biographies place her birth in Frankfurt, Germany, and her upbringing in Louisville, Kentucky. She represented Kentucky when she competed for Miss USA in 2021.
What is Elle Smith’s ethnicity?
No sourced biography in the reviewed record labels Elle Smith’s ethnicity. What is documented is a German birthplace and a Kentucky hometown.
Because ethnicity is not confirmed in the sources used here, treat any specific label — on social media, in forums, or in clickbait headlines — as unverified. The responsible line is to say what is documented: born in Germany, raised in Kentucky, represented Kentucky at Miss USA.
What this means: geography is confirmed; identity labels aren’t. The distinction matters when “Elle Smith ethnicity” is a popular query.
Who is Elle Smith’s partner?
Leah Williamson is the England women’s football captain and an Arsenal defender, according to The Standard (London daily). Media reports link her to an Elle Smith, and by late September 2025 the pair had made the relationship hard to ignore.
The public record starts in 2024. Marca (Spanish sports daily) traces the couple’s public visibility to that year, and La Nación (Argentine daily) notes that the exact date they met has never been established in available reporting. Sporting News (sports outlet) added in July 2025 that neither woman had publicly discussed the relationship at that point. By September 24, 2025, that silence had changed: Williamson shared an Instagram carousel that included Smith, and days later they attended the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris together.
How long have Leah Williamson and Elle Smith been together?
- Publicly linked: from 2024 (Marca, Spanish sports daily).
- Holiday photos and September 24, 2025 carousel: both reported by PinkNews (LGBTQ+ news site).
- Ballon d’Or appearance in Paris: September 2025, per PinkNews (LGBTQ+ news site).
- Exact start date: unconfirmed (La Nación, Argentine daily).
So the honest answer is “roughly a year of public visibility,” not a precise anniversary. The reporting supports a 2024 start; it does not support a specific week or month. PinkNews described the Ballon d’Or moment as an apparent confirmation rather than a hard launch — a useful caution for fans and journalists alike.
The September 2025 Instagram carousel and Ballon d’Or appearance moved the relationship from rumor into the public record. Every earlier date is context, not confirmation.
The trade-off: fans want a timeline, but the confirmed record only supports “from 2024 onward.” Everything earlier is inference.
The pattern: a single confirmed public window opens in 2024 and reaches a visible milestone in September 2025; any date earlier than that remains outside the sourced record.
How much is Elle Smith worth?
No official net-worth figure exists for Elle Smith in the sourced record. That absence is the finding: pageant titles do not come with a published salary, and personal wealth is not disclosed in the public biographies that dominate search results.
How much does Miss Universe get paid?
- Miss Universe winners are not salaried employees of the organization.
- Compensation depends on prizes, endorsements, and individual contracts.
- No authoritative figure for Elle Smith’s earnings appears in the sourced record.
The net-worth question changes depending on which Elle Smith you mean. Searches tied to the Miss USA profile are pageant-centered; searches tied to football coverage are relationship-centered. Neither has a documented bank statement, so any number you see is an estimate.
Any net-worth figure without a named source is an estimate, not a fact. Treat it that way in headlines and shares.
The trade-off: an absent number is more honest than a fabricated one. Until a named source publishes a figure, “unconfirmed” is the correct answer.
Why did Donald Trump sell Miss Universe?
Donald Trump co-owned the Miss Universe Organization — which then included Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, and Miss Universe — and sold it in 2015. The sale followed remarks he made during his presidential campaign launch that year, ending a long pageant ownership era.
Did Trump ever own Miss Universe?
- Ownership included Miss Universe, Miss USA, and Miss Teen USA.
- Co-ownership ended with the 2015 sale.
- The 2015 sale came after his campaign-launch remarks.
That history matters for Elle Smith searches because her Miss Universe run happened in 2021, six years after the sale. The pageant she competed in was no longer under Trump’s control.
Has a Miss USA ever won Miss Universe?
- Yes — several Miss USA winners have also won Miss Universe.
- Winning Miss USA does not guarantee the Miss Universe crown.
- Elle Smith’s top-10 finish in 2021 is the documented benchmark for this profile.
The complete winner list lives in official Miss Universe records. For this article, the relevant fact is narrower: Elle Smith reached the final rounds in 2021, and her top-10 finish is already in the key facts table above.
Why it matters: the Trump sale is part of Elle Smith’s timeline because the Miss Universe stage she reached in 2021 had new owners by then. Pageant history and pop-culture history turned out to be the same story.

The split is the story: the pageant record is solid, the relationship record is short, and the financial record is empty. Treat each with the weight it deserves.
What they said
“We’re both busy people but we make it work.”
— Leah Williamson, quoted by The Standard (London daily)
“happy birthday to my love x”
— Elle Smith, message reported by Grazia Daily (UK lifestyle outlet)
The common thread: both quotes are private words made public. They confirm warmth, not a calendar date.
The takeaway
For a name that keeps splitting into two search identities, the evidence is now legible: the pageant career is documented, the relationship has a public landmark, and the personal finances remain private. For journalists covering England’s captain, the editorial choice is clear: anchor every claim to the 2024–2025 sourced timeline, or risk passing speculation along as fact.
