Elle Smith: Height, Nationality, and Relationship with Leah Williamson

Most people meet Elle Smith twice: once in November 2021, when she was crowned Miss USA, and again years later, when England captain Leah Williamson started turning up beside her. In between sits a quieter story: a Louisville television reporter who won her first-ever pageant, then became half of one of women’s football’s most visible couples.

Height: 5’10” (178 cm) — IMDb (crowd-sourced film database) ·
Born: June 19, 1998 — Kiddle (encyclopedia-style summary) ·
Nationality: American ·
Title: Miss USA 2021 ·
Partner: Leah Williamson (Urbanmixr relationship coverage)

Two databases disagree on one date, but the headline numbers hold up — this is the frame Smith’s entire public profile hangs on.

How tall is Elle Smith?

• Smith’s listed height: 5’10” (178 cm) — Urbanmixr (biography)
• Leah Williamson’s listed height: 5’7″ (170 cm) — Urbanmixr (biography)

The three-inch gap between Smith and Williamson is one of the few stats that holds up across every profile reviewed. Smith’s height was a talking point long before the relationship: pageant files and modeling databases carried it, and it remains one of the rare personal metrics that fans of both women can check against official listings.

What is Elle Smith’s nationality?

• American — described as an American journalist by Urbanmixr (biography)
• Born in Springfield, Ohio, per Urbanmixr (biography)
• Professional home: Louisville, Kentucky — Urbanmixr (biography)

The Kentucky connection runs deep: Smith graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2020 with a broadcast journalism degree and a political science minor, then joined WHAS11, the ABC affiliate in Louisville. She is also the second Miss Kentucky to win Miss USA, per the same NPR-affiliated reporting that covered her win.

What is Elle Smith’s ethnicity?

• Public profiles reviewed here do not assign Smith a single ethnicity label
• Documented: she served as vice president of the University of Kentucky chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists — Urbanmixr (biography)

The honest answer is that her ethnic background is not something the sources in circulation describe with one word. What is documented is her leadership inside an organization for Black journalists, which says more about her professional community than any guess at a label would.

How old is Elle Smith?

• Born in June 1998 — 27 as of mid-2025, assuming the June 19 date — Urbanmixr (biography)
• IMDb’s June 20, 1998 date shifts the birthday by a day, not the year — Urbanmixr (biography)

The year is the part nobody disputes. The day, less so — which makes “born in 1998” the safest thing to repeat.

The pattern: the height question is really shorthand for “who is this person next to Williamson?” — and the answer is a 5’10” journalist with a pageant crown and a UK diploma.

What is Elle Smith’s nationality?

American — and the sourcing is cleaner than most celebrity-bio rabbit holes. The official and archival profiles document the basics: an American journalist who graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2020, worked as a reporter at WHAS11 in Louisville, and then won Miss Kentucky USA before taking Miss USA — Urbanmixr (biography).

• Miss Universe 2021: Top-10 finish — Urbanmixr (biography)

The confusion around her nationality is really a geography problem: Kentucky is where she built her career, not where she was born. Once that distinction lands, the rest of the bio clicks.

Who is Leah Williamson in a relationship with?

Public reporting through 2025 pairs Williamson with Elle Smith. The England captain’s relationship with Smith became visible in 2023 through social-media posts and match-day appearances. For context on who Williamson is on the pitch: she plays as a defender and captains England’s senior women’s team, per Urbanmixr (biography).

The relationship is the first of Williamson’s to play out in front of a mainstream audience. Fans of women’s football have tracked it closely, in part because Smith’s pageant profile gave the pairing a visibility that most WSL relationships don’t get. Our Elle Smith: Biography, Ethnicity, Partner, and More profile collects the coverage in one place.

Does Leah Williamson have a husband?

• No marriage is recorded in the public record — Urbanmixr (biography)
• Her publicly known relationship since 2023 is with Smith, not a husband — Urbanmixr (relationship coverage)

The “husband” question comes from older biographical pages that listed Williamson’s family members and got recycled without an update. There is no record of a marriage in any source reviewed.

Has Leah Williamson dated men?

• No public record links Williamson to a male partner — Urbanmixr (biography)
• Her known public relationships have been with women — Urbanmixr (relationship coverage)

The accurate framing is “no public record,” not “never.” Williamson has not addressed a full dating history in interviews, so any definitive claim about past partners goes beyond the evidence.

The catch: absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. The honest label for Williamson’s dating history is “private,” not “undocumented forever.”

Are Elle Smith and Leah Williamson still together?

As of 2025, the public answer is yes. The couple have continued appearing together at events, and neither has signaled a split in any source reviewed. The relationship went public in 2023, and the timeline since then has moved in tandem with a major football story: Williamson’s ACL injury.

In April 2023, Williamson suffered an ACL injury, underwent surgery, and spent the rest of the year in rehabilitation before returning to football in 2024 — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline). Smith was a visible presence at matches during the comeback, which is how many fans outside pageant circles first learned who she was.

What is the status of their relationship?

• 2023 — relationship becomes public — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)
• 2024 — Williamson’s return season; Smith seen supporting — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)
• 2025 — couple still together per public appearances — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)

The pattern: the relationship timeline tracks almost exactly with Williamson’s injury-recovery arc, which is why the couple’s status generates so much search interest. The stability of the pairing became a small part of the comeback narrative.

How long have Elle Smith and Leah Williamson been together?

Roughly two years, by the most commonly cited timeline — with an important caveat: nobody outside the couple knows the exact start date.

When did they start dating?

• Early 2023 — first public hints via social media — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)
• Mid-2023 — relationship confirmed through public sightings — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)
• 2025 — still together, roughly two-plus years on — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)

Timeline of their public appearances

• 2023 — joint posts and match attendance begin — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)
• 2024 — Williamson’s Arsenal return; Smith at matches — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)
• 2025 — public events together continue — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)

The most honest one-liner: the relationship was public by mid-2023 and has stayed public since. Anyone selling a specific anniversary date is extrapolating from social-media breadcrumbs, not reporting.

The trade-off: fans want a milestone date, but the couple has never published one. The available evidence supports “public since 2023,” and that is where the record ends.

Career and public-life record

Six markers, one pattern: almost everything notable in Smith’s public life happened between 2020 and 2023.

The implication: Smith’s pageant win was not a pivot away from journalism — it ran parallel to it. Her Miss USA year reads like a newsroom bio with a crown attached, which is why the record holds up so well.

Timeline: from Louisville to the Lionesses’ orbit

The dates worth remembering, from pageant night to the present — and where the sources agree or diverge.

• June 19, 1998 — Elle Smith is born; Urbanmixr (biography) uses this date, while Urbanmixr (biography) lists June 20 in Springfield, Ohio
• 2021 — Crowned Miss USA after winning Miss Kentucky USA — Urbanmixr (biography)
• Early 2023 — Relationship rumors with Leah Williamson begin — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)
• April 2023 — Williamson suffers an ACL injury — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)
• Mid-2023 — Relationship confirmed through social-media posts and public sightings — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)
• 2024 — Williamson returns to football; Smith supports from the stands — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)
• 2025 — Couple still together, seen at events — Urbanmixr (relationship timeline)

What this means: every milestone in the couple’s story after 2023 happens against the backdrop of Williamson’s comeback. The timeline signal is not the gossip — it is the recovery arc running underneath it.

What’s confirmed, what’s still unclear

The trade-off: the facts about Smith are solid where official records exist and fuzzy exactly where fans want them most — dates, money, and the inside of a relationship.

Key sources in their own words

“The new Miss USA is Elle Smith, a local TV reporter from Kentucky.”

— New Hampshire Public Radio (NPR-affiliated station), headline, November 2021

“Smith won Miss Kentucky USA 2021 — her first pageant — before winning Miss USA 2021.”

— University of Kentucky (official alumni profile), paraphrased

“Leah Williamson plays as a defender and captains the England women’s national team.”

— England Football (official national-team roster), paraphrased

The through-line: three different institutions, three consistent descriptions — the record is stable where official sources exist.

The bigger picture

Smith’s story runs on two tracks — a journalism career that predates the crown, and a relationship that made her a fixture in football headlines. The record is clear on the first track and thin on the second: official sources document her height, education, and pageant history, while the relationship’s early timeline rests on social-media breadcrumbs. For Elle Smith, the dual spotlight is not fading, and the choice is clear: keep letting her work and her relationship speak for her on her own terms, or the gap-fillers online will keep writing her story for her.
